Reflection of the concept of judgment to art

In this study, it is aimed to explain how the concept of last judgment, which is a remerkable subject, is used in different artistic fields and how it is defined and expressed in different disciplines of art such as plastic arts, cinema and literature. Especially in the art of painting, it is seen that the concept of last judgment, which is depicted by using holy books, is conveyed in different ways. In this study, Albrecht Dürer’s engravings set an important example in terms of how the apocalyptic subject is treated with a different technique. While the meanings of the concept of last judgment in different religions and how it is expressed in the sacred books are examined, it has been examined about what this concept means culturally in other societies.The concept which has become the subject of art works with different artistic techniques; oil painting, fresco, engraving, as well as pictorial techniques, such as literature, has shown itself in other areas of art. The subject of the study was that most of the last judgment was found in the belief and culture of the society and this was reflected in the works of art. The relationship between the concept and other cultures is emphasized and how it is reflected in the artistic expression. An evaluation was made in terms of both the use of the concept of last judgment in terms of both the social perspective and the methods used to reflect the concept to art, and in this context, it was concluded that the subject had a similarity in some society and formed a whole.
