About the Journal

Sigma Journal of Engineering and Natural Sciences is a Journal of Yildiz Technical University. The journal is published six issues a year in February, April, June, August, October and December . The journal has been published for 30 years. It is also published online (electronically) since 2004. The papers published in the journal is open access in the World. Whoever wants to look the papers, he/she can visit the website (sigma.yildiz.edu.tr). The language of the papers is English.

Sigma Journal of Engineering and Natural Sciences reports on fundamental knowledge that contributes to the state-of-the-art in engineering and natural sciences. In the journal, the original studies in engineering and natural sciences areas which are never published anywhere. The papers under review, accepted for publication, or published elsewhere should not be submitted and will not be considered.

The journal accepts submissions online through DergiPark. With DergiPark, authors can submit manuscripts to the journal via the Internet and have their manuscripts reviewed online. Reviewers can review manuscripts and submit their comments online.

Online submission of all new manuscripts to the Sigma Journal of Engineering and Natural Sciences is required. Manuscripts that arrive via e-mail or postal mail will not be processed. The authors will be contacted and asked to submit their manuscripts online instead.

Sigma Journal of Engineering and Natural Sciences has a blind review process which is believed that more relevant than ever as the system for evaluating the quality, validity and relevance of scholarly research. The manuscripts submitted to journal are sent to three expert reviewers, whom of many have academic degree, for the possible publishing. The reviewers in the similar research area scrutinize the manuscripts for validly, significance, originality and scientific to help the editors assess whether the manuscripts should be published in the Journal. The manuscripts submitted to journal are passed on initial check by the editors. Inadequate or unprepared manuscripts according to journal requirements are rejected. Also, the manuscripts are checked for plagiarism using Ithenticat e which is subscribed by Yildiz Technical University. The manuscripts passing on the initial check are sent to three expert researchers to review. Generally a month time is offered the experts to review. The reviewing process is blind, so the authors never see the reviewers' name. We aim to reach a final decision for the manuscripts submitted to the journal within 3-6 months. Accepted manuscripts are presented online in the main website of the Journal. After proof of the accepted manuscripts, the papers are published in printed version of the Journal.

Journal Description: Our journal is supported by Yildiz Technical University officially, and is a blind peer-reviewed free open-access journal, published quarterly (March-June-September-December).
